Gary Fisher

ARTIST STATEMENT

I have a passion for the beauty I experience in my natural environment. It is the colors of the sunrises and sunsets, the light and shadows on ever changing landscapes, the delicacy of texture and shapes in fruit and flowers, the movement of leaves and water that inspire and drive me to create. This visual encyclopedia that finds its way onto my canvases is an expression of the beauty I see all around me.

Color and texture dominate my vibrant surfaces as the play of light is expressed in applications of intense, and sometimes surprising hues.

Each day I paint to create a work of art that brings me joy and contentment and might provide a future client with a painting to cherish and brighten their life. I am particularly thankful for the influence on my work of the American colorists and great abstract expressionists.
