Mary Masterilli

Artist Statement

"Junk is my medium". Vintage typewriters and cameras, broken VCRs and DVDs, creepy doll parts and other found objects. My steampunk-persuaded art brings together the discards and fragments of industrial society with natural elements such as wood and copper, interpreting the histories of forgotten things.

Whether functional art, casual furniture, or fine art sculpture, Apothic Art represents my ongoing attempt to recapture the feelings and memories of a free-range childhood spent playing in abandoned factories along Philadelphia's Manayunk Canal.
